2009 Topps Series One Review

Posted by houstoncollector on February 17, 2009

Picked up a retail jumbo and regular pack of 2009 Topps Series One.  Video is below:

Card Design: 9/10.  This is a very /nice/ looking set.  Great photography and card design.  It looks very nice.

Price:  9/10.  $2 for base hobby and retail, $5 for the retail jumbo and $10 for HTA.   Best suggestion in my mind is to buy retail jumbos.  36 card for $5 can’t be beat for building the set itself.

Hits: 6/10.  This is a base product.  I hate the manufactured patches, and this is not a set for the hits, this is a set for set building.  That’s what base is for.

Overall:  8/10.  There are some issues with the product, specifically the manufactured patches.  Overall, though, the base set is good, and Topps seems to have learned their lesson about extremely short-printed cards in the set for the /most/ part.
