2009 SAGE HIT Preview

Posted by houstoncollector on February 23, 2009

I have the sales sheets for 2009 SAGE HIT Low Series and High Series in my hands, and thought I’d pass it along for those of you who are interested in these products.

2009 SAGE HIT Low Series will be out mid-March, will come in the standard setup of 5 cards a pack, 30 packs a box, and 16 boxes per case.  You’re going to get six autographs per box, without any redemptions.  Expect all of the autos to be stickers, and there’s going to be a Make Ready insert, #’d to 50, one per box.  While the press release says ‘extremely limited production’, fully expect boxes of these to show up for a while down the line, dropping rapidly in price the later in the season you go.  That being said, I still want any autographs and base of future Texans.

High Series will come out in April, presumably around the Draft, and will actually come with nine autos per box, with only 27 packs a box.    This is, of course, because the (presumably) better players are in the low series, and the scrubs are in the high.  The High Series will include another Make Ready insert #’d to 50 per box, as well as random press plates and auto’d press plates, with each pack having a thick parallel card as well.

For those of us who want cards no matter what, or those who like college players, SAGE HIT isn’t a bad product, especially later in the year.  Unfortunately, the autos don’t hold their value very well down the line, so this is primarily a quick flip product, or one for player collectors or college collectors.
