Mystery Cuts And 2009 Piece of History

Posted by houstoncollector on March 12, 2009

To follow up our Topps news is news from Upper Deck, as I’ve got a few items to deal with here.  First is the notice that Upper Deck has finished shipping the Mystery Cuts autographs from 2008 SP Legendary Cuts.    The timing on this is a bit ironic, given the news about the bogus autographs that was announced last week.   One would hope that these are legitimate, but one can never be certain anymore, I don’t think.  One of them are up on eBay right now, a Napoleon Bonaparte 2/2 AU which is at around $2500 with 2 days left, with a reserve.

Next, we have news from the guys at UD about 2009 Piece of History (which used to be Artifacts) baseball.  First, we have the official preview over at Upper Deck, and then we have a video, which is presumably fan-done but feels very marketing-oriented.  This stuff comes out April 14, with boxes running around $65 with 16 packs a box, 7 cards a pack, one Hollywood memorabilia card per box and 1 AU and 2 GU.  If only the design didn’t look mailed in.

Granted, as with most of the rest of us, I’m always open to sponsorship offers. 😉
