More From Topps

Posted by houstoncollector on August 24, 2009

More news from Topps, today.  First, we have word that rookie redemption #6 has been announced for 2009 Topps Finest:  Kyle Blanks from the San Diego Padres.  I’m less certain about the impact of this player, as he’s only batting .247 for the year so far, but maybe there’s more to him than we’ve seen thus far.

Next, we have word that Topps has confirmed that Wil Venable’s unsigned blue refractor cards from 2009 Topps Chrome (#’d to 199) have mistakenly been put in the product.  However, if you send the card in to the following address by November 30, Topps will have it signed and re-authenticated.

Topps Company
ATTN: Consumer Relations
1 Whitehall St.
NY, NY 10004

Also, Wil Venable, Tommy Hanson and Mark Melancon’s rookie autographed cards in the set do not have a card number.  No word on if these are being corrected, but one would presume that they’d be uncorrected errors, so don’t go buying them on eBay hoping for a profit, and don’t be suckered.
