Card Design Fail

Posted by houstoncollector on September 29, 2009

Let’s look at this card, why don’t we:

On the face of it, it’s a very nice card.  It’s got a solid autograph, if stickered, of an elite player, and a swatch.  This is all well and good until you realize that this card is numbered 4/10.  4/10 and the best Donruss could do was a single-color white swatch?  You’ve got to be joking.  NO card numbered 25 or under should have a single-color swatch.  Period.  Nothing under /50 should be white.  A 4/10 with an autograph should have a freaking patch.

Edit:  Topps gets into the action too.  Look here.  I know, I know, it’s Triple Threads.  But it’s also numbered 2/3.  And is 3 pieces of PLAIN WHITE MEMORABILIA.  I love Andre Johnson and collect him, but I would not spend $12 on this card.  $5, at most, and only for the numbering.
